Teacher Information

Kim Sellers, ERYT500 teaches Yoga to many different populations, including seniors, athletes, college students, children, and cancer survivors. She teaches yoga classes at Indiana University at South Bend, Memorial Hospital, Sacred Waters Spiritual Center, and other venues. Kim teaches at conferences, gives talks to private groups, and leads retreats and workshops on yoga, meditation, and energy-based practices in Indiana and Michigan.
Kim is co-director of Green Tree School of Yoga, and has helped to train many of our local yoga teachers. She began teaching at the YMCA in 1998, and in 2003 started teaching full time, and still does. Kim is one of the most experienced teachers in the area, and was instrumental in bringing Yoga into the mainstream consciousness of our community by starting Yoga programs at IUSB, the YMCA of Michiana, Lakeland Athletic Club and South Bend Parks and Recreation. She was recently featured in “In Michiana” magazine.
Kim teaches public and private group classes, and works one-on-one with individuals. She is an intuitive teacher who easily adapts her classes to each student’s needs. She specializes in adapting yoga to the specific needs of each student.
Kim initially trained at the White Lotus Foundation in Santa Barbara, California with Ganga White and Tracey Rich, and has since studied with many higher teachers in the U.S. and India; including Judith Lasater, Rodney Yee, Ana Forrest, Paul Grilley, Dharma Mittra, Manuso Manos, Rod Stryker, H.S. Arun, and Elesa Commerse.
She completed a second 200-hour yoga certification through Yogamocean under the instruction of Kathleen Flanagan, whose teachings emphasize precision, alignment and use of props in the style of Iyengar. Kim also completed a year-long Meditation teacher-training course through the Kriya Temple of Yoga in Chicago. Kim is a Reiki Master/Teacher and is a 2003 graduate of the Tao Mountain School of Traditional Thai Medicine, with a focus on Thai Yoga bodywork.
Kim graduated from Yogamocean's 500-hour Yoga Therapy Teacher-Training program, which gives her more tools to work with many pathologies and injuries. In 2010, Kim completed a Restorative Yoga Teacher-Training with Judith Lasater, and teaches both Restorative Yoga and active Yoga classes in South Bend and Mishawaka.
